On July 22, 15 conscious capitalists gathered virtually to take a breath and “network.” It was relaxed yet compelling. Many seemed like they were finishing up the workday, a great way to unwind. Not everyone was drinking or eating, but we all just enjoyed each other’s company.
C3MD Board Member Wendy Baird, owner of insight180 brand consulting & design, started the Happy Hour off by introducing the event sponsor, The Wendy Slaughter Team of Elevate Real Estate Brokerage.
Wendy also thanked Tino’s Italian Bistro and SOBAR for offering food and dring specials specifically for the event (Tino’s charcuterie board shown below). Once again, C3MD invited attendees to donate to Columbia Community Care, who continue to make great strides through “grab and go” meal programs and other wonderful programs for the community.
Everyone had a chance to introduce themselves and to share one positive thing they have noticed that has been a result of the pandemic. People shared the joys of working from home, slowing down, more time with family members, giving back, and more. For a bonus, Tino’s proprietor Lance Cook, shared a trick for how to decant wine quickly!
Before wrapping up, we did a quick poll on preferred meeting times. Participants confirmed that 4-5 p.m. for Happy Hour was a good time and also determined that 8-9 a.m. works best for a Conscious Coffee (morning meeting). Save the date for the next event: Conscious Coffee (virtual), on Tuesday, September 1, 8 a.m.- 9 a.m.
