It was great to see everyone at our first in-person networking event of 2023 at Sapwood Cellars Brewery in Columbia, MD. On Thursday, May 11, C3MD members and guests gathered for a lively evening of good fun, great company, and even better conscious-business-minded conversation. After we all had time to settle in, network, and enjoy a delicious artisan brew, C3MD President Liz Richardson (pictured above) initiated a round of introductions for the new faces in the room. Attendees had the opportunity to meet new board members Camille Mazelev and Mark Donnelly and hear why conscious capitalism is so important to them at this time. The question that was posed for those in attendance, and our new board members, was, “What does it mean for you and the business you are a part of to be “conscious”? How does it impact your daily work or approach to operations, or does it?”
Camille Mazelev offered her perspective for the group:
“I am a business consultant. Being conscious to me means being aware of both the intended and unintended impact my business decisions have. It also means I take special care in providing support to those who are working to positively impact my community. Additionally, one thing I love to talk about is ensuring that leaders listen to their stakeholders and factor in their feedback into how they choose to run their business.” – Camille Mazelev, C3MD Board Member
As much as we enjoy the convenience and opportunity our virtual meetings provide, it’s always so much fun to see everyone in person when we can. If you missed our May networking event, don’t worry. We’re currently planning another in-person event for August, 2023. Details coming soon!
Pictured here are a few of the familiar faces that attended this month’s event:
