Dear Friends and Members of C3MD,
As we wrap up 2025, I find myself deeply grateful for this community. Time and again, you showed up with openness, intention, and a genuine desire to lead differently. Because of you, Conscious Capitalism of Central Maryland continues to be a place where ideas are exchanged, relationships are strengthened, and conscious business is practiced, not just discussed.
Reflecting On 2025
In 2025, the C3MD community continued to show up with curiosity, generosity, and a shared commitment to practicing conscious business. Through a blend of virtual conversations and in-person gatherings, we created space to learn, connect, and deepen relationships across our local ecosystem. Highlights from the year include:
- Virtual Learning & Connection Series (Coffee & Collaboration + Food for Thought):
Offered in both morning and lunchtime formats, these sessions — along with a culture-focused workshop — explored the four tenets of Conscious Capitalism and created space for shared learning, meaningful dialogue, and practical takeaways. - Spring Conscious Cocktails (In-Person Networking):
Our spring gathering at Sapwood Cellars brought members together face-to-face to reconnect, build new relationships, and strengthen the sense of community that anchors our chapter. - Summer Sparks: Ignite Your Network with C3MD:
A mid-year networking event designed to re-energize connections, spark collaboration, and create momentum across the C3MD community during the summer months. - Ignite Howard County #10:
In partnership with the Ignite Howard County Team, Leadership Howard County, and other collaborators, C3MD proudly helped bring another powerful Ignite experience to life. This milestone event featured a dynamic lineup of speakers who shared bold ideas, personal stories, and perspectives that challenged us to think differently and act more consciously. - Conscious Cocktails: An Evening with Conscious Venture Lab’s Jeff Cherry:
We closed out the year with a meaningful conversation on conscious leadership and entrepreneurship, learning from Jeff Cherry’s experience mentoring purpose-driven businesses and reinforcing the importance of stakeholder-centered growth. We were grateful to hear from local business owners, Funlayo Alabi (Shea Radiance) and Evan Lutz (Hungry Harvest).
Together, these experiences reinforced the value of intentional connection, thoughtful leadership, and community-driven impact — hallmarks of Conscious Capitalism in action.
What’s In Store For 2026
As we look to 2026, C3MD is focused on strengthening connections, expanding our reach, and continuing to support conscious businesses in practical, meaningful ways. Guided by member feedback and board planning, here’s what you can expect in the year ahead:
- Continued virtual learning and dialogue through a mix of morning Coffee & Collaboration sessions and lunchtime Food for Thought discussions, exploring the four tenets of Conscious Capitalism and offering space for shared learning and actionable insights.
- More opportunities to connect in person, including casual community meetups and at least two hosted networking events designed to deepen relationships, welcome new members, and strengthen local collaboration.
- Expanded partnerships and ecosystem connections, including deeper engagement with local business, entrepreneurship, and education communities to broaden who’s included in — and benefiting from — the conscious business movement.
- Ignite Howard County continues as a signature, high-impact experience, celebrating bold ideas, diverse voices, and stories that inspire action and possibility.
- New tools and resources for conscious businesses, including exploration of practical frameworks and diagnostics to help organizations assess and strengthen how conscious business principles show up in their day-to-day operations.
- A renewed focus on accessibility and inclusion, with experimentation around meeting formats, timing, locations, and membership pathways to better meet members where they are — especially small businesses, emerging leaders, and future entrepreneurs.
We’re excited to build 2026 together — grounded in purpose, connected through community, and committed to making conscious business real and relevant in our region.
